The marriage between Taylor Armstrong and her late husband Russell was obviously an extremely unhealthy one and we now have photographic evidence of just how bad things really got between the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple.

Taylor announced her intention to reveal photos detailing the abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband shortly after his suicide last month. Naturally, the decision generated a good deal of controversy, with many accusing Taylor of cashing in on Russell’s tragic death. The first of the photos was revealed in an Entertainment Tonight promo that aired last night.

While it’s usually an act of bravery when an abuse victim steps forward, Taylor’s timing makes her revelation seem like an extremely morbid cash grab. Russell was obviously a very disturbed man, which in no way excuses him for beating his wife, but a few weeks after the man’s psychological issues led him to take his own life might not be the best time to focus on what a jerk he was while he was alive.
