Before Nicki Minaj was the rainbow-ed skunk hair rapper that we all know and love today, she was struggling to make herself heard in the music business. The singer told Cosmopolitan magazine that before she found fame and perpetual Lady Gaga outfit comparisons, she was rejected by multiple record companies and found herself suicidal (along with, presumably, all her alter egos).

"It was one dead-end after another. At one point, I was like, 'What would happen if I just didn't wake up?' That's how I felt--like maybe I should just take my life."

Thankfully she didn’t! Nicki may be insane, but she’s entertaining as hell. I’m sure her past struggles make her success all the more sweeter.

When asked about where she thinks she’ll be five or ten years down the line, she told the magazine that she sees herself getting bigger and better yet--and even having some babies.

“I’ll have hundreds of millions of dollars. I will have put out five albums and will have an Oscar and Grammys. And I will be getting married and, a couple of years after that, [I] will have a bun in the oven.”
