Billy Crystal Replaces Eddie Murphy as Oscars Host
Billy Crystal, 63, has replaced Eddie Murphy as the host of the 2012 Academy Awards. Brett Ratner was scheduled to produce the show, but when he resigned, Eddie Murphy no longer wanted to be a part of it. Eddie backed out of his hosting gig, so the Academy offered the job to Billy Crystal.

Billy Tweeted: "Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show."
How safe and boring. The Academy needs to get its sh!t together. There are so many talented people out there who would make great hosts. Take Stephen Colbert for example, or Lisa Lampanelli! Ha. James Franco and Anne Hathaway probably effed it up for everyone.
