Rumors have been circulating about the possibility of a breakup between Johnny Depp and his longtime girlfriend and baby mama, Vanessa Paradis, for several months now. The news has now moved from the tabloids to more mainstream publications like People magazine, while Johnny and Vanessa remain silent on the topic, basically confirming that the rumors are true.

The mag claims to have spoken with “multiple sources” who confirm the couple is “all but officially finished.” The article also points out that the once inseparable couple have not appeared on a red carpet together in over a year.

At this time, there’s no word on the cause of the split, but you can pretty much take your pick from a laundry list of potential deal-breakers: Johnny was seduced by Angelina Jolie on the set of The Tourist, Vanessa got sick of seeing the father of her children fall down drunk in public, Johnny got sick of dating a woman who closely resembles David Letterman…the list goes on and on. Sad that there are children involved but Johnny’s been living off the continent and out of the spotlight for so long, it’ll be fun to see him mix it up as a single dude again.
