Katy Perry was scheduled to attend the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, but she has decided to bail. Russell Brand's ex Tweeted: "Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People's Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!"

On Saturday, the day that reports surfaced that her parents were happy about her divorce, Perry Tweeted that "NO ONE" speaks for her. As if she should be dealing with clarifying WTF her parents said less than 2 weeks after her husband filed for divorce.

Last Wednesday moving vans were spotted at Katy and Russell's $6.5 million Los Angeles home, allegedly moving Russell's things.

Us Weekly stands by its story that Katy was "blindsided when Brand filed for divorce." Regardless of how the split materialized, it's not like a single reporter at the People's Choice Awards wouldn't harass Katy about her breakup. She's a smart girl!
