Whitney Houston Dead at 48
One of the greatest singers of all time, Whitney Houston has died. Whitney's rep confirmed the sad news. Whitney's first album, "Whitney" was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard charts. She was expected to appear at the Grammy Awards tomorrow, and she was spotted out with Ray-J as recently as last week.
A worldwide success, Houston sold 200 million albums worldwide and has won six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Awards, 22 American Music Awards and more.
She leaves behind an 18 year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
Whitney was married to Bobby Brown from 1992 - 2007. She has battled an addiction to drugs for the past few decades. The cause of her death currently remains unknown.
Such shocking, tragic news! So many of us have grown up listening to Whitney's hit songs and watching her in The Bodyguard and her videos on TV. She adored her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and the interview she did with Oprah in 2009 showed her strength. She was determined to get herself together. May Whitney finally find the peace she's been searching for. R.I.P.
We have a video of Whitney singing to her daughter for her 17th birthday in 2010 after the jump!
