Whitney Houston Died From a Prescription Drug Overdose?

Whitney Houston was taking Xanax, a prescription drug commonly used to treat anxiety and depression. Houston also drank a lot of alcohol the night before her death. Xanax, when mixed with alcohol, can cause severe sedation, TMZ reports. It is believed that Whitney fell asleep in a bathtub.

Police found prescription bottles in Whitney's hotel room. Thus far, no illicit drugs were found.

Whitney told people that she would always take Xanax before big performances, like Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party she was scheduled to perform at Saturday night.

TMZ reports: "Whitney claimed to have anxiety and panic attacks and the pills helped her relax before taking the stage." She was reportedly in a good mood all day and excited to perform last night.

Houston was allegedly abusing alcohol and drugs for decades. One's body can only take so much. Sadly, Whitney reached her limit yesterday. May her tragic death be a reminder to all who believe that they're invincible.
