Well she may not be breaking sales records left and right like Katy Perry, but Lady Gaga still reigns supreme in one respect: the Mother Monster is the undisputed queen of Twitter with a whopping 20 million followers.

Gaga reached that milestone over the weekend and she currently enjoys a healthy lead over Justin Bieber, who comes in a distant second with 18 million followers. Part of the appeal of Gaga’s feed seems to be that all the tweets are written by her, and not by a management team, as is often the case with A-list celebs. Uncharacteristically, she has yet to tweet a gushing thank you to her fans for helping her reach the 20 million mark.

Gaga took the Queen of Twitter crown from Britney Spears in August of 2010 and has held the top spot ever since. While her rabid fan base has made her a force to be reckoned with in terms of online popularity, Gaga has fallen to third place on Facebook, where Eminem has her beat by over six million “likes.”
