While the rest of us might still think Chris Brown is an a-hole, Rihanna seems to have pretty much moved on from her ex-boyfriend’s brutal 2009 attack. RiRi rarely speaks out about the notorious incident, but she opens up in the new issue of Elle and reveals that she drew strength from the ordeal and she couldn’t care less about what the public thinks of her relationship with Chris.
“It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening,” she said of the attack. “That was my liberation, my moment of bring it. I have more freedom the more people know about me.” It may seem unusual that she speaks so positively about being physically assaulted, but it makes sense that an incident in which your private life was laid bare like that would make you more fearless in dealing with the public.
As for the fan reaction to her relationship with Breezy, RiRi says, “The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently…“People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. I don’t hate them for it.” Well, I’d put in my two cents, but I guess that would just be wasting my time! Besides, the less I say about Chris Brown, the better.
