For comedians, it doesn’t get any better than the White House Correspondents Dinner. You have to be considered the best of the best in order to be asked to host the popular event, and your jokes will be all over the Internet and TV shows for days, if not weeks. So is Jimmy Kimmel nervous about the gig?
“I’m definitely more nervous about the correspondents audience because I don’t know those people.” He continued: “I’m an outsider in Washington, for sure, and I think a mistake that one could make is pretending to be an insider when you aren’t one. I don’t want to do any jokes I might not actually get.”
The late night host is hopeful that everything will go smoothly.
“You know what, I understand the room and I’m comfortable in almost any forum and I’m sure it will work out fine. Well, I hope it will work out fine.”
The Correspondents Dinner is today. Guests like George Clooney, Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan will be in attendance.
