Whether you think she faked her pregnancy or made the world’s most speedy recovery, there’s no denying that Beyonce spent most of the past year looking damn good. So good, in fact that People magazine has named the new mom their Most Beautiful Woman for 2012.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” Bey said of the honor. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.” People‘s decision probably had a bit to do with the classy fashion in which Beyonce handled her very public pregnancy, but there’s no question that she’s been stylish in the spotlight for her entire adult life.

Asked by the magazine which parent baby Blue resembles most, Bey cleverly dodged the question, saying only, “She looks like Blue. She’s her own person.” You know she was dying to say, “God, I hope she ends up looking like me!”
