This is the first number one of Adam’s career and he expressed his gratitude for his fans via Twitter. “Wow! #Trespassing made its debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week! Thank you to the Glamily for helping me make HISTORY!” History, indeed. The success of “Trespassing” marks a turning point in Adam’s career and may well be remembered as the moment he transitioned from critical darling to global icon.
With 77,000 copies sold, Adam becomes just the seventh American Idol contestant to reach the number one spot on the charts. The same experts who predicted Adam would take the top spot say that his sales will benefit heavily from word of mouth, and the Glam one could hold on to number one for several weeks.
