Critics and fans can’t seem to get enough of Lena Dunham‘s show “Girls.” HBO picked it up for a second season weeks ago and newcomer Allison Williams understands why. Allison plays Marnie and she has some, uh, embarrassing scenes that she has to shoot for the show. Luckily for Allie, her parents don’t mind that she has to get raunchy.

Allison, the daughter of NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams, says that she cringes when she watches the popular show but her parents are understanding and supportive.
“They’re very cool about it. I’m like, cringing, and then I open my eyes and they’re all just watching like [it's no big deal]. They understand that I’m an actress.”
Allison explains: “The show does a great job of encapsulating what life is like for girls in their early 20s and some of that involves less glamorous moments and more intimate ones.”
Williams says that Girls “is portraying something that seems real and familiar to people.” That it is! Girls airs Sunday nights on HBO and we recap it for you here each week!
