Many women would not sit around patiently in a relationship for nine years while their multi-billionaire boyfriend took his time to wife them up. If I were Priscilla, I would have had four kids already, assuming The Zuck didn’t dump me after baby #1, and many women would be figuring out clever ways to get their man to spend his stacks on them, but Priscilla’s different.

Priscilla has her own career going for her and one that Mark Zuckerberg is proud of. Mark “checked in” on Facebook on Monday and updated his status with “I’m so proud of you, Dr. Chan .” while sitting in the crowd as Priscilla graduated from UCSF’s School of Medicine.

A spokesperson reveals that Mark and Priscilla wanted to make it official for quite some time but Mark “was waiting for Chan to finish medical school.” Days after Priscilla’s commencement ceremony, Mark made his girlfriend Mrs. Zuckerberg.

With or without Mark, Priscilla makes her own money. She spent two years teaching science at the prestigious Harker School in San Jose before her medical studies at UCSF, one of the top programs in the country, and she postponed on shacking up. Priscilla only moved into Zuckerberg’s $7 million Palo Alto home in 2010.

Forbes reports: “Contrary to the golddigger jokes pervading Twitter, Chan won’t be retiring to start a jewelry line or other such vanity project now that she and Zuckerberg are official. She aims to begin her work as a pediatrician later this year.” Good for her!

The wives of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Google billionaire Sergey Brin all had thriving careers before getting married. Ladies, take notes! There are plenty of men who will be attracted to you because of your success, not intimidated by it.
