Now that 19 year-old Disney has been Miley Cyrus got engaged to Australian hottie Liam Hemsworth, 22, everyone is speculating about whether or not the young couple will stand the test of time, so we thought we’d join in.

The LA Times published an article on why Miles and Liam may be doomed, citing their young ages, their lack of a college degree (that apparently plays a role in folks staying together), and their Hollywood careers.

I think that Miley and Liam have a fighting chance. Miles is Christian and Liam’s brother Chris Hemsworth got married fairly young and now he’s a father. Miley and Liam both have strong family values, which should count for something.

As a panelist on the Today Show said, there are the “Romeos and Juliets” out there who do get hitched at a young age and never split. Bottom line is, as long as there are popular, young attractive stars, they’re going to get caught up in the moment and marry off. All the speculation is pointless because it’s pretty obvious that Miley and Liam won’t make it, but that’s for them to figure out on their own.
