The 2012 Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced today and several of my personal faves made the cut (if you're not watching Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones, then what are you doing with your life?!), but we here at POTP are mostly excited about the fact that two of our favorite stars and shows are being acknowledged in such a high profile fashion.

Girls star Lena Dunham received a nomination in the Best Lead Actress In A Comedy Series category and the show (which she created) was nominated for Best Comedy Series. Equally awesome is the fact that break-out star and friend of the site Max Greenfield has been nominated for his consistently hilarious performance as Schmidt on the Fox hit New Girl.

Naturally, Lena and Max are up against some stiff competition, but, as they say, it's an honor just to be nominated, and we couldn't be happier for two of our favorite up-and-comers.
