The LA Times wrote a lengthy article on how the Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders photos were taken and then sold to UsWeekly. Paparazzi site Fame/ Flynet only approached Us magazine with the images instead of pitching the story to various outlets! They knew that the scandal "was pretty scandalous."

An Us Weekly source explains: "There was no question when we saw those pictures that this was going to be one of the biggest stories of the year — if not the biggest." Real talk.
Kristen has delivered! She's fiercely private, hid her four year relationship with Robert Pattinson from the public, then sucks face with a man old enough to be her father who is married with two kids. Now that's a scandal, baby!

The photographer saw Kristen and Rupert "pawing each other like teenagers" and called his photo agency for backup. "Soon, three additional shutterbugs were also trailing the couple."
It wasn't until the paparazzi got to their office that they figured out who Kristen was making out with.
The scandal was so explosive because "the brazen nature of the lapse, given Stewart's heretofore strongly guarded, cautious public persona; the rapid and pained public apologies by both parties; and the questions the tryst cast over not one but two films — the upcoming "Twilight" finale and plans for a "Snow White" sequel."
Photo agency Fame/Flynet did not shop the pictures around "to make sure the secret wouldn't get out before the story broke."
Us Weekly's rep said: "I'm not sure the 'Twilight' fans would have believed the news without the undeniable photographic evidence."
