Many of us predicted the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce years ago, but at least one person never saw it coming: Tom Cruise.

A new report in People magazine claims that Cruise felt “blindsided” when news broke that his wife had filed for divorce last month. “[He] was thinking, ‘What did I not see?’” said a source close to Cruise. The insider adds that for Tom, the most difficult part of the split has been his month-long separation from daughter Suri.

Tom was in Iceland filming a sci-fi film called Oblivion at the time of the split. Needless, to say, Katie wasn’t eager to bring Suri by for a visit. “He couldn’t shut down production, cost people their jobs.
