This should end well. Apparently, at the time that news of the Rupert Sanders/Kristen Stewart cheating scandal broke, Universal was already making plans for a sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, the film in which Rupert directed Kristen. Sources say Kristen is "contractually obligated" to appear in the SWATH 2, while Rupert made a "verbal agreement" to direct.

Needless to say, Sanders' wife, Liberty Ross, is none too pleased with this arrangement and has made her feelings abundantly clear to her husband. “Liberty let it be known in no uncertain terms that Rupert can’t direct the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman,” a source tells Radar Online.
Unfortunately, it's not that simple. The first SWATH film was Rupert's directorial debut. It fared better than expected with critics and audiences alike, and if Rupert were to completely jump ship on the sequel, it would deal a serious blow to a career that's just beginning to take off.
A likely compromise would be Rupert agreeing to produce the sequel, which, again, Kristen is contractually obligated to star in. Sigh. Everything's more complicated in Hollywood.
