No one really knows what's been going on with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart aside from the former lovers themselves, but it's safe to assume they don't have much contact with one another these days.

That may soon change, however, as Rob and Kristen are set to promote Breaking Dawn 2 together in November and distancing themselves from one another may draw more attention to their situation than simply playing the happy couple role one last time.

A source tells The Sun that Rob has consented to walking to the red carpet with Kristen in order to spare her any abuse from Twihards. “He’s told movie bosses he’ll walk the red carpet to save her from embarrassment and any female fans booing her," says the insider. “He is being professional and taking the higher moral ground.”

Smart move, Rob. Not only will female fans get weak in the knees at the sight of Pattsy chivalrously escorting the girl who cheated on him to safety but Kristen will feel guiltier than ever. I call that a win-win.
