Taylor Swift: “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” Is About…

Taylor Swift has made a career out of trashing her exes in song, and her latest single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," is typical Tay Tay, complete with lyrics straight from the tear-stained pages of a heartbroken tweenage girl.

Taylor has already admitted that her latest song is based on a real relationship, but at this point, Taylor has dated so many famous dudes that it can be difficult to determine which of her many famous exes she's lyrically castrating. Of course, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating about who the lucky guy might be this time around.

Consensus seems to be that the song is about Jake Gyllenhaal, whom Taylor dated in late 2010. It's a sound theory, given that the guy in the song seems to have given Taylor the cold shoulder until she got the hint, which is probably how Jake dumped Taylor. Then again, the lyrics mention multiple breaks and the two parties going "a month" without seeing one another.

Similarly, though she may have gotten creepily attached, Swifty only dated John Mayer and Taylor Lautner for a few weeks, and the song definitely seems to refer to a long-term relationship. My guess? Joe Jonas. Yes, they dated back in 2008, which is roughly a century when you're talking about Taylor Swift's love life, but dude obviously had a serious impact on her and there were several reconciliation rumors, such as the type described in the song.

We'll probably never know the truth, but it's still fun to play the Carly Simon game and speculate about Taylor's ridiculously literal lyrics.

So who do you think she's singing about?
