I attended the season 2 premiere event of The X Factor yesterday in Hollywood and the show definitely lives up to the hype. Simon Cowell revamped the series entirely! Season 2 is filled with entertaining and heartwrenching backstage footage of contestants. This innovative, candid approach makes it simple for viewers to root for some contestants and despise others.
Britney Spears is harsh, just like Simon said that she was, and Demi Lovato is a C U Next Tuesday, like I said she was on another X Factor panel. Demi looks ridiculously beautiful on the show, Britney is engaged with the performances, L.A. Reid remains a lot of fun and Simon manages to bring even more zingers this season!
I'm not going to lie, I didn't tune into last season of The X Factor until the very end, and I probably watched about three episodes total. I feared that The X Factor would feel like American Idol of yesteryear simply rehashed, but it doesn't. It feels fresh!
With all of the backstage antics between the contestants, the whispered subtitled dialogue amongst the judges, incredibly good and bad singers, strong song choices and the brightest lit stage I've ever seen, this show's a winner.
Some have slammed The Voice saying that its singers aren't that great. Based upon the season 2 premiere of The X Factor, I have to say that the talent on The X Factor far exceeds that of The Voice and if you're a Britney fan like I am, it shouldn't be difficult for you to decide what show to tune into each week!
The X Factor premieres tonight and tomorrow at 8PM on Fox!
