Within hours of Closer magazine posting topless pictures of Kate Middleton on vacation, The Duchess of Cambridge has sued the French publication. A rep for St. James' Palace said that "legal proceedings for breach of privacy have been commenced today in France" by Kate and Prince William.

The Royal Family threatened to take legal action. Closer's editor Laurence Pieau said that it's "hypocritical" for the media to condemn her decision to publish the pictures. I agree! I'm not condemning Laurence, I applaud her for my own selfish reasons.

Laurence says that the images simply depict a happy young couple in love. She also says she refused to publish "more intimate" pictures of the couple.

When Laurence tries to pretend that her pictures are innocent, that's when she sounds idiotic! Her defense is pretty weak. She wanted the money and the publicity, just minus a lawsuit.
