With a second season of her hit HBO show on the way and a rockstar boyfriend, Lena Dunham is already living the dream at the ripe old age of 25. Now, the Girls star/creator is following in the footsteps of her neurotic-comic idol, Woody Allen, by publishing a book of essays. With her star on the rise, however, Lena’s thoughts won’t come cheap.
The book, tentatively titled, Not That Kind of Girl: Advice by Lena Dunham, is currently being shopped to publishers with a reported price tag of $1 million. A hefty fee for a first time author, to be sure, but given Ms. Dunham’s current popularity anything with her name on the cover is sure to be a hit with the coveted 18-24 year old demo and will likely spend some time on the bestseller list.
Lena has revealed little about the content of the book, but she’s made it known that various essays deal with the loss of her virginity, her obsession with death and “the most awkward date ever with an older director.” Please let it be someone I already hate…Brett Ratner would work.
