It's time once again to play Who Is Taylor Swift Whining About Now? Every time Taylor releases a song about heartbreak (see: every song she's ever written) hardcore Swifties all over the world put down their diaries and stop brushing the manes on their My Little Ponies in order to focus on figuring out which of the many famous dudes she's banged inspired Tay-Tay's latest ear dagger.

This time we have it easy. In the opening lines of "I Knew You Were Trouble," Taylor identifies the dude as a predatory player, singing, "Once upon a time a few mistakes ago, I was in your sights you got me alone." I'm thinking he's a bit older. I'm thinking Tay was warned not to get involved with this dude.
So we can cross off the Taylor Lautner-esque Goody Two-Shoes types and we've pretty much got it narrowed down to John Mayer or Jake Gyllenhaal. From there, it's a tough call, but Swifty usually leaves us enough lyrical clues to figure out what douche she's griping about and her latest jam is no different.
Taylor talks about dude flying her places she's never been, which leads me to believe she's talking about Jake. Yes, she dated John slightly longer, but the Mayer Player ain't flying no b!tches nowhere, ya dig? Add in the line that goes "You never loved me, or her" (a possible reference to Taylor's pow-wow with Jake's ex Reese Witherspoon) and there's little doubt which of Taylor's victims has his balls on the chopping block this go-round.
You can listen to the song in it's entirety above, but we've already done the detective work, so there's really no reason to subject yourself to its dub-steppy awfulness. You're welcome.
