Lillie McCloud, real name Nicole McCloud, auditioned on the season premiere of The X-Factor and claimed that she was too busy raising her children to pursue a music career. However, some reporters did some Googling and that’s far from true.
Nicole has performed with Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and Kool and the Gang. She’s also had some Top 10 hits on the U.S. dance charts! Her first top 10 song is called “Don’t You Want My Love” and was released in 1985.
Her second hit is “Runnin’ Away” and charted at no. 3 and was released in 1994. Her 3rd Top 10 hit, which was released in 2002, is called “Search’n.” That song also earned her a nomination for the international Dance Awards.
The X Factor should just changed its title to The Voice 2. The Voice makes no secret of the fact that it seeks out seasoned performers to compete on the show. The X Factor also reaches out and asks certain performers to compete (for ratings) but they don’t want the general public to know that. The ratings for this season’s premiere were the worst of the entire series. Stories like this one won’t help the show any either. Check out “Lillie” McCloud’s moving audition at Mrs. Grapeviene.
