Alexa Ray Joel has gone under the knife to fix her nose which she obviously inherited from her father Billy Joel. She says she's been thinking about getting it done for years and is overjoyed with the results.

Her nose, she adds, “always bothered me a little bit. I was self-conscious of pictures taken from the side. To some people that’s vain, but at the end of the day, we all want to feel pretty.” But the daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley says she’s done with plastic surgery. Says Joel, “Would I do anything else to my body? No. It’s not ten procedures like Heidi Montag. For me, that’s a little extreme, but to each her own.”

It's a subtle difference and you can hardly tell she had anything done. That's how it should be! Have you noticed that anytime someone talks about major plastic surgery, they always mention Heidi Montag? She has made herself an example of what not to do with plastic surgery!

Alexa Ray Joel was hospitalized earlier this week from an apparent drug overdose after a breakup which left her heartbroken. Splitting up with someone who you thought was your 'true love' is a hard thing to deal with, but no man or woman is worth taking your own life.

With all of the gossip rumors going around about her hospital stay, her parent Bill Joel and Christie Brinkley issued a statement regarding her hospitalization.

Every parent can imagine the pain and anguish we face as parents of a daughter who is working to recover from the dangerous actions she took while suffering a devastating heartbreak. As much as we hate dignifying tabloid stories with a response, we feel we must set the record straight to protect our family. The story that ran in the New York Post on December 8th, and has been subsequently spread across the Internet, is filled with vicious lies and attempts to smear our character and that of our beloved daughter. We ask the public and legitimate media outlets to please "consider the source" and to not further exacerbate our daughter's situation by repeating and legitimizing these false reports.

I hope things turn around for Alexa and she realizes there's more to life than a man by your side. She'll find the right one eventually. That sh*t takes time!

Over the weekend, sad news broke that Billy Ray Joel's talented musician daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, was rushed to the hospital after an alleged suicide attempt.

Alexa, 23, took several pills after a breakup with her boyfriend. She was "distraught" over an argument at time time of the incident.

Billy Ray Joel didn't go to the hospital where Alexa was staying, avoiding the paps perhaps, but he did stay in contact with her by phone. Her mother Christie Brinkley stayed at her bedside.

Since Alexa's release, she's been staying at her dad's house. People magazine claims the cause of Alexa's hospitalization as "a reaction to herbal medication." Nice spin. The "reaction" occurred after her breakup with her boyfriend. Coincidence? Alexa has also said that she can get in a very dark place. She's emotional.

Now that Alexa's family and friends have discovered what she's possibly capable of, I'm guessing she'll be showered with love and she'll be in a better place now than she was before.

Alexa Ray Joel, 23, was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital in NYC on Saturday after a possible drug overdose.

Her rep said,

"She was admitted, and doctors are assessing the situation. We have no further comment."

Alexa is currently in stable condition. Her roommate called police just before 12:30 p.m. on Saturday after the songwriter had allegedly ingested a large amount of sleeping pills.

Police consider this a suicide attempt. Alexa was scheduled to attend a tree-lighting ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange this Thursday.
