Anne Hathaway's boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, was under police custody Thursday after allegedly bouncing a $250,000 check.

Follieri, a real estate developer, apparently went willing to the NYPD and has since been released, according to the report.

"He went willing to a precinct â€" he was not brought by police â€" and he was not handcuffed. This is a misunderstanding that his lawyers are already sorting out."

A Washington, D.C. court recently ordered Follieri to pay a public-relations firm $250,000 for work done on his behalf, TMZ reports.

In 2007, Follieri denied accusations by Ron Burkle that he squandered $1.3 million.

Anne Hathaway is a trooper. Despite a death in the family this weekend, she still showed up at a gay-rights gala on Saturday night.The 25-year-old starlet was given the Human Rights Campaign's Ally for Equality Award during its annual Los Angeles fete at the Hyatt Century Plaza hotel.

Hathaway (above, with CAA agent Bryan Lourd) said supporting the gay community hits close to home. It was "no big deal," she said, when her older brother, Mike, told the family he was gay."We hugged him, said we loved him and that was that," Hathaway said.

But when Mike came home for Christmas with his first boyfriendâ€""now husband," Hathaway cooedâ€"their dad was a little worried...about the laundry!

"My father's only comment to my mother was, ‘Please try not to mix up our underwear,'" Hathaway said to laughs and applause.

The Devil Wears Prada actress Anne Hathaway has dished the dirt on some of Hollywood's hunkiest leading men and how they like to kiss.

And while she rates Becoming Jane co-star James McAvoy as a true gent who never tries to slip the tongue - Anne reveals that Jake Gyllenhaal asked to touch her boobs in Brokeback Mountain. She told radio station Heart:

"Sometimes you work with actors, and they can be lovely guys, but they have kind of dodgy instincts when it comes to kissing in scenes. They want to try to make it look a bit too real if you know what I mean.

With James, right before we started he turned to me and said 'closed mouths, no tongue' and that's what I normally say to people - so it was a pleasure."

Anne then cheekily added:"There was this scene in Brokeback Mountain where I get my kit off and I'm in the car with Jake Gyllenhaal and he's touched my shoulder and he's touched my stomach and he's touched around my back. Everywhere except for, you know, 'the girls'.

So the director yells cut and we go behind a screen and I'm putting my clothes back on and Jake comes up to me and says: 'Annie, the thing is, the scene, in real life I would… and the director's not yelling cut, so… can I?' I just turned to him and said: 'It's okay Jake, yes, you can touch my boobs.'"

Anne Hathaway says she suffered from anxiety and depression in her teens, but that she rejected medication and instead worked through her troubles.

"I said to Mom the other day, 'Do you remember that girl? She has now gone, gone to sleep. She has said her piece and she is gone,' " Hathaway, 24, tells Britain's Tatler magazine.

"But then I thought, 'I so remember her, only she is no longer part of me.' "

She continues, "I am sorry she was hurting for so long. It's all so negatively narcissistic to be so consumed with self."

The actress is the latest celebrity to discuss depression recently, joining Mandy Moore and Zach Braff.

Next up, Hathaway will star as Jane Austen in the movie Becoming Jane. Why play the legendary author? Because of one of her idols, Emma Thompson. "I was having doubts," she says. "But then I met Emma, who asked me what I was doing. I couldn't tell her I was not going to play Jane Austen. So I just did it."

Hathaway, who's been dating real-estate developer Raffaello Follieri, 27, for three years, lives in New York City â€" because she can't live in Los Angeles. "I am too pale and I don't drive," she says.
