Cast alongside Cedric the Entertainer, Gabrielle Union and her ex Mos Def in the new movie Cadillac Records, Beyonce will play the legendary Etta James. She looks it, too!
Beyonce says,
“I gained almost 15 pounds to play the role. It was way easier – and tastier – than having to lose so much weight for Dreamgirls.”
Her quotes are so safe and boring. Tell us about what you ate, B! And if you had sex with Jay while you felt bloated.
Luvs the dancing and the signature over the top thick weaves and dramatic eyeliner. Beyonce is so in shape! She knows we ain’t ready for no jelly, so she keeps it tight. You can’t be bouncing around like this if you’ve got rolls.
I need to hear this song more. I’ve only listened to it once, so I’m undecided. What I do know is that I’m into these black and white B videos. Ditching the color is an effective way of standing out.
I must say Beyonce is impressive. This song has really grown on me, and while I’m not so sure it’s as effective as she’d like it to be, by getting men to think about their actions, she gives it a good try. The video brings her important message to life and I can respect that. I also love the sound. Beyonce has a lot of high-pitched wailing going on, typical, but this song sounds “new.” It’s definitely something we haven’t heard from Ms. Knowles before and she sings it with so much, and arguably too much, emotion. If I were a boy I would probably turn off this song, but I’m not, so I’m enjoying the message and the heartfelt energy behind it. Well done.
I only listened to “If I Were a Boy.” I definitely need to hear it more in order to like it. It’s not even that radio-friendly. Confused.
Second song, “Single ladies (put a ring on it)” can be heard here
Beyonce always records many more songs than she releases. And you know she’s gonna have a bunch of drama “Ring the Alarm” like tracks on her new disc, but she’ll claim the songs have shit to do with her while saying that this is her most personal album. Say whatever you need to to keep people spending, babe. I would too. Beyonce lets everyone know what’s up on her official site.
“I have recorded over 70 songs and have created a sound that reveals all of me. I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me.”
Knowles will likely pare down her bounty of songs for the album, though she has not yet confirmed a title or track listing for the set. She did announce that the disc will be preceded by two singles, “If I Were a Boy” and “Single Ladies,” which be released on Oct. 7.
“I have worked on this album for close to one year. I have taken the time so I can create my sound. Something that says who I am at this stage in my life. I have poured my heart and soul into it. It is my baby. It is the most time I have spent on any project since my first records as a member of Destiny’s Child.
“The music is upbeat for the dance, fun side and it is reflective, passionate and serious for the personal side,” Knowles writes. “I have taken risks here. I am not afraid and my music will explain it all.”
Beyonce needs to STFU! Remember when she released some shitty song she recorded as a little girl, promising fans that they would get to know the ‘real’ her if they purchased that trash so they could hear her crap song?
“When I was 10, I recorded a song called ‘632-5792′ — a phone number. It’s a little embarrassing but it’s cute. There’s a recording of that song on the phone exclusively for my fans. I wanted to make sure people got a feel for who I really am. It’s only through this phone that you can get this close to my life.”
She thinks she farts cotton candy and shits roses. Haha. Not funny, but I’m keepin it.
Beyonce is on the new cover of Marie Claire, which scares me because once B begins her media frenzy it’s like it never ends, looking sexy hot.
Unlike Beyonce’s L’Oreal skin bleached ad, looks like the diva wasn’t under intense lighting and didn’t have any computer help to lighten her up. Good job, Marie Claire. Nice.
Solange Knowles doesn’t know her place - living in the shadow of Beyonce and Jay-Z. The horse look alike is trying to branch out on her own. I love her new sound, actually. Her fashion has gotten worse; it’s very colorful, out there and uncoordinated, but it works because folks blog about it. Basically, the Z-list sibling is trying real hard to become successful with this second album of hers. Go head now.
However, part of the ‘making it’ process includes kissing everyone’s ass until you stop remembering who you’re lying to and what you said. This should include all members of the media who can give you free publicity. Solange must be watching too much “New York Goes to Hollywood.” Fame is yet another thing Solange doesn’t understand. You can’t blame her. She’s only famous when her sister’s by her side.
Before Solange’s interview with Fox News in Vegas, the anchors asked if they could talk about Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in Vegas closing. Solange’s rep said “hell no” and the anchor agreed to only ask Solange about her new music venture.
Solange, being the genius that she is, decided to go off on live TV. Classy.
To watch the short clip click HERE at Fox News. The clip is aptly titled “Solange’s awkward moment.”
“Beyoncé Knowles has been a spokesperson for the L’Oréal Paris brand since 2001. We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oréal Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin-tone in the campaign for Feria’s hair color.”
Damage control! I worked for a magazine and I’d sit there and watch the art director Photoshop and airbrush the hell out of the models in our spreads. Bullshit!
And, let’s just say L’Oreal didn’t lighten Beyonce’s skin, they made sure she was under some intense lighting! And they overexposed the image. In summary: Beyonce’s much darker, L’Oreal knows it and that’s why they made her look diff. That’s categorically the truf! If B can’t get outta her contract, she better speak up and make sure they don’t do this again. I don’t expect anything less from the Knowles camp.
