Bobby Brown was very successful in the '80s and '90s but his career took a hit when he became addicted to drugs and had run-ins with the law while married to Whitney Houston. He is one of Hollywood's biggest train wrecks.
Bobby Brown was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Cops pulled him over for driving while talking on a cell phone and discovered that he wasn't sober, allegedly. Bobby, 43, has already been arrested for a DUI. He was also arrested for battery in 2003 and again for a parole violation in 2004.
Brown is currently in custody in a Van Nuys jail. Welp, Bobby has been a f*ck up his entire life. No reason to stop now!
Bobby Kristina would avoid Bobby Brown like the plague on his reality show "Being Bobby Brown," so it comes as no surprise that she wants to legally distance herself from her dad. Bobbi Kristina Brown wants to drop her first and last name and simply go by "Kristina Houston."
Bobbi K has wanted the name change ever since her parents got divorced, but Whitney wouldn't allow it.
Now that Whitney is no longer able to stand in her way, Bobbi Kristina is getting serious. It remains unclear when she plans to make the change official... Good for Bobbi, but, uh, I don't think people will stop calling her Bobbi Kristina Brown! Sucks when you're famous.
The problem with trying to figure out the truth behind the death of Whitney Houston is that the singer had been famous for so long that she attracted plenty of the wrong kinds of people, but she had also been flying low on the radar as of late so we don't know who the good and bad influences in life were in her final years.
Bobby Brown's sister gave an interview yesterday in which she claimed that she and Whitney were so close they referred to one another as "soul sisters" (again, we have no way of knowing if that's true) and that she's as devastated by the loss as anyone in Whitney's immediate family. Okay, well it's nice that she was able to speak publicly about her grief...but then she keeps talking...
"I believe Whitney’s death was not accidental. No," Leola Brown said in an interview with Access Hollywood. She added that she couldn't provide details on her conspiracy theory, as he attorney had urged her not to.
Leola then cautioned Bobbi Kristina Brown that she is "not safe" and should trust no one but her father, grandmother and, of course, Leola. As the topping on the crazy sundae, Leola concludes by saying, "Bobby has nothing, nothing at all to do with Whitney’s death. [Whitney's] father said he was tired of people talking about his son-in-law. He said Bobby had nothin’ to do with Whitney doing drugs in the past or whatever."
Again, we knew nothing about this woman until today, but everything about her screams shady. Why did she hire a lawyer other than to grab a piece of the estate? Oh, and she really expects us to believe that Whitney's parents were just sick to death of people trashing Bobby Brown? Please.
According to reports, Bobby Brown was planning to write a tell-all memoir about his relationship with Whitney Houston several years ago. As Whitney had been flying under the radar for a few years and Bobby wasn't exactly a beloved cultural figure, no one was buying. Not surprisingly, the tables have turned in the wake of Whitney's much-publicized death and Brown now finds himself fielding offers from a number of publishing houses.
"The market has changed," an insider close to the situation tells Huffington Post. "Now is the time for a book that details an honest look into the life of Whitney." Whether or not Brown is the man to provide that "honest look" is a matter for debate, but rest assured that the former star will put in his two cents (and be well-compensated for doing so) some time in the near future.
Naturally, many of Whitney's closest friends are less than pleased with the idea of a Bobby-penned tell-all. "This is a man who left his ex-wife's funeral because he didn't like his seats and went to a paying gig that night," said one friend, who went on to compare Bobby playing a concert the night of the funeral with him writing a book so soon after his ex-wife's death. Hopefully, Brown will wait a while before releasing the book out of respect for the grieving, but since he's likely to be accused of exploitation no matter what he does, he may as well tell his side eventually.
Years ago Bobbi Kristina was photographed snorting something and photos of her smoking went viral. Today, Bobbi continues to find herself in the middle of substance abuse rumors. Bobbi disappeared immediately following her mother's emotional funeral service on Saturday.
Radar reports: "Bobbi Kristina didn't want to be at the burial, and she looked wasted. Krissy's eyes were glassy, and she seemed to be very disconnected from the service. Krissy hasn't been eating or sleeping."
Bobby Brown wants Bobbi Kristina in rehab. Meanwhile, the Houstons reportedly "feel absolutely powerless to do anything" because Bobbi is a grown adult and they don't want to drive her away from them. So sad! Get better Krissy.
Bobby Brown left Whitney Houston's funeral around 20 minutes after it began. Days before the funeral, there were reports that Bobby wasn't invited to attend. Days after the funeral, media outlets are having a field day talking about how Bobby was partying the day after Whitney's memorial. It never ends.
Brown issued a statement saying that he and his children were invited to Houston's funeral and "were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move."
Brown had an entourage of nine people, which his statement doesn't mention.
Bobby said that security prevented him from seeing Bobbi Kristina.
Well, it was bound to happen. The fight over Whitney Houston's estate has begun, and sadly, 18 year-old Bobbi Kristina is caught in the middle.
TMZ reports that Whitney's family has stepped in to prevent Bobby Brown from contacting his daughter, as they believe he is only after Whitney's fortune, estimated to be worth $20 million. Whitney's mother, Cissy Houston, believes that Bobby is broke and planning on exploiting his daughter's affection to secure a chunk of her inheritance. Because of interference from Cissy, Bobby reportedly didn't see his daughter for more than three days following Whitney's death.
I'm not sure who to side with here. Judging from Bobby's past, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out he was exploiting this tragedy to line his pockets, but at the same time it's hard to imagine keeping a daughter from seeing her father in the days following her mother's death. It's an ugly situation and it's a shame that Bobbi Kristina's already fragile mental state has to be tested this way.
Bobby Brown has issued his first public statement about the welfare of his 18 year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, who was rushed to a hospital following the unexpected death of her mother, Whitney Houston.
"My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better," Brown said earlier today. "We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother's death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected."
Brown did not provide any details regarding his daughter's condition, but she is said to be resting at home after being hospitalized twice in the two days following her mother's passing. Certainly no one deserves the kind of tragedy that has befallen Whitney and her family this week, but Bobbi Kristina may be the most blameless and tragic figure in this whole affair. Hopefully she can find the strength to move on and honor her mother's legacy in a healthy fashion.
The volatile relationship between Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston was documented by reality show cameras and tabloid headlines over the years, and after years of drug addiction and alleged abuse, the couple divorced in 2007. Five years later, Whitney's family is rumored to still hold a grudge against Brown, with some even blaming him for the legendary singer's death and allegedly doing everything in their power to keep him from attending her funeral.
TMZ reports that Bobby is "extremely disappointed" after members of the Houston family reached out to him directly, warning him not to try to attend the funeral. The same reports say that Bobby desperately wants to attend the funeral, not only to pay his respects to his ex-wife, but also to support his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, who has already been hospitalized in the wake of her mother's death and is reported to be suicidal.
Bobby is said to have urged Whitney's family to "set aside their differences" and focus on mourning the lost legend. Regardless of how he may have behaved in the past, we hope the family allows him to pay his respects, if only for his daughter's sake.
Whitney Houston did not die from drowning, thank God, according to L.A. County Coroner officials. The water that was found in her lungs was not enough to suggest that the iconic singer had died from drowning in her hotel bathtub.
It is the cocktail of prescription pills, mixed with alcohol, that allegedly did her in.
It was Whitney's aunt, Mary Jones, who discovered her body in the tub - everyday we're hearing that it's someone different! Mary checked on her after a half hour and she's the one who pulled Houston from the tub and administered CPR.
Whitney's body will be flown back to Atlanta as early as tomorrow.
