I love Crystal Bowersox even though she looks like she hasn't showered in months or brushed her teeth in a few years. Unfortunately she got sick and had to be taken to the hospital, bumping the male contestants' performances up by one day.

American Idol is doing its best to accommodate her, which is great. Crystal, 24, is recovering from diabetes complications. She was taken to the hospital but she is "doing OK and should be fine for tomorrow." She better be! As I said, I like this smelly looking chick, she's great and I'm sure she feels awful about getting sick. On Thursday, two men and two women will get the boot and Danny F*cking KaraGokey will also be performing his new single "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me" on the elimination show.

Crystal Bowersox is undeniably talented, but this week her undeniable talent didn't help her to stand out any.

Crystal Bowersox performed Alanis Morissette's "Hand In My Pocket" and Simon Cowell reminded her that this song has been done and done. Not only is "Hand In My Pocket" a song of the past, people sing this song or similar songs everyday in subway stations. She's too good to be this cliche; she needs to break away from what's safe and I want her to ditch the harmonica at times if that will help her. You can do it, Crystal!

Crystal Bowersox is a force to be reckoned with. The down to earth young mother with dreadlocks plays the guitar and the harmonica and she sounds so good while doing it too. I love her voice, but I'm not able to put her in a box. What genre should Crystal's debut record be? She's got soul, she can sing pop rock, and she's got dreadlocks, which reminds me of reggae. There's so many things producers could do with this woman and I hope to see her in the final four for sure.

The single mother got a tattoo of her son's name on her back for good luck, but it doesn't look or sound like she needs any. Crystal Bowersox is a natural. It's not everyday that you see a folk rock and blues singer wearing a guitar and rocking blonde dreadlocks. It's even more rare that a girl who grew up on a farm in Ohio would remind you of Janis Joplin - in braces.

Crystal has a stand-out look and a stand-out voice. I like her already.
