At this point we're only a few hours away from finding out if Adam Lambert landed in the #1 slot on Billboard, as experts had projected. Adam's new album Trespassing will debut at no.1 if Carrie Underwood and Adele sales remain steady, making Lambert the first openly gay artist to top the Billboard 200.
Adam Lambert, Never Close Our Eyes (live)
Elton John has had several no.1 albums and Clay Aiken had a no.1 record in 2003, but neither had yet come out of the closet yet. Adam's first record, For Your Entertainment, debuted at #3.
We will keep you posted on what the official stats are, but as of right now, one of the best singers in today's pop music may receive more of the recognition that he deserves. More television interviews, more magazine covers, more photo shoots please! The video above features Adam showcasing his talent on last week's American Idol before I went one on one with the talented chart topper himself. Looks like Glamberts got it done!
