Heath Ledger (Page 2)

Heath Ledger Investigation Officially Closed

The U.S. Attorney's Office closed its investigation into Heath Ledger's accidental overdose death and will not enforce a subpoena against Mary-Kate Olsen, a law-enforcement source told PEOPLE.

The probe was closed without any charges being filed.

Olsen, 22, was subpoenaed by a federal grand jury on April 23, but her attorney had been in negotiations with federal authorities since then, the source said.

Olsen had wanted immunity before testifying. Olsen's attorney released a statement saying the actress "had nothing to do" with Ledger's drugs and had already provided "relevant information" to investigators.

The U.S. Attorney's Office and Olsen's rep both declined to comment.

Ledger, 28, was found dead in his Soho apartment on Jan. 22, and the coroner determined the actor died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs for pain, anxiety and sleep.

I hope Heath's family is relieved. They're one step close to closure now.

Troll Out of Luck, Mary-Kate to be Subpoenaed

Mary Kate

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration office in New York has confirmed that they have issued a subpoena that would force Mary-Kate Olsen to testify in front of a grand jury.

Five medications were found in Heath's body at the time of his death, according to the DEA, three of which he'd obtained via doctors in Texas and Los Angeles. At the center of the investigation is how he acquired Oxycontin and Vicodin without a legal prescription.

The actress was the first person called by the masseuse who discovered Heath's body after the "The Dark Knight" actor's untimely death.

I am luvin' this! I don't know why there's so much secrecy comin' from MK, but it's all ovah now, bitch!

Mary-Kate's Lips Are Sealed Tightly

No, pervs, I'm not talking about those lips. The troll Olsen refuses to say anything about Heath Ledger, and she's seeking immunity from prosecution. Why so skurred, Mary-Kate?!

Mary-Kate Olsen is refusing to talk to federal investigators about pal Heath Ledger's death until she is granted immunity from prosecution, the New York Post reported Monday. The Dark Knight star, 28, had died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and OxyContin.

Though Olsen's attorney has rejected multiple requests from federal officials to talk to the actress, she could face a grand-jury subpoena to testify, according to the Post.

Unlike inquiry into Ledger's death by the New York Police Department, which was completed with Olsen's cooperation, federal investigators are seeking information from the actress about where he got his drugs and medicines.

Now I'm even more suspicious of her troll ass than I was before. What kind of drug rings is MK running? Why is she so afraid? And why is she trying to be above the law? Someone should yank her out of bed by her thong, throw her in a cop car and question her for as long as they wanna. Speak up, bitch!

Heath Ledger's Family Attends NY Premiere

Heath Ledger's family attended the New York premiere of The Dark Knight yesterday to see him in the final performance of his life.

His father, Kim Ledger, and stepmother Ines snuck into the theater, dodging the red carpet and the spotlight.

Heath's mother Sally Bell, her husband, and his older sister, Kate, also came to watch the film.

Although you would think it would have been almost impossible to watch their son/brother on the big screen after his tragic death, Heath's father left feeling positive about the experience. He showed a thumbs-up to reporters and said it felt "very good".

Ledger's Dark Knight co-stars as well as a slew of other celebs showed up to honor the memory of the late actor.

Co-star Christian Bale, who plays Batman in the film, praised Heath's work.

"Working with Heath was fantastic. He steals the movie and I'm quite happy to say that. He's a hell of a talent and created a joker that's very iconic and one that will become a classic portrayal of the ages."

Michael Caine, 75, plays butler Alfred Pennyworth, says that Heath's performance was intense and ferocious, and that he could flip it on like a switch.

"When we were sitting down between takes, he was completely ordinary. He wasn't preparing himself or saying 'Please leave me alone, I've gotta do this.' Instead he was talking to me. We would sit and chat and have a cup of coffee, then suddenly they'd say, 'We're ready, Heath,' and he'd go straight into The Joker. His energy was astonishing, especially when it came from this kind of calm. He's certainly the best villain I've ever seen."

The Heath Ledger Theatre

Isn't this sweet? What a thoughtful way to honor the late actor. I don't know about you, but I still miss Heath. May he rest in peace, and smile from ear to ear when he learns of Australia's touching tribute.

Perth, Australia, is getting a new landmark: a $87 million, 575-seat auditorium named for a native son, the Heath Ledger Theatre.

"Heath Ledger was totally dedicated to the craft of being an actor and that's what made him successful," Carpenter said. "I think what we're doing is continuing that support for young people who want to make a career in the arts and acting, stage and in film, whatever it happens to be."

Also in attendance: Heath's father, Kim Ledger, who considered the honor to his son a pleasant surprise.

"He was such a giver to the arts right across the board. I really feel that there's not a lot of things he'd put his name to, but he'd put his name to that," said the elder Ledger.

Kim Ledger also said that the praise being heaped upon Heath's performance is making his family's private grieving all the more difficult.

"It's been a little bit hard, but we've always been extremely proud of his work and that hasn't changed."

Michelle Williams Says It's All Good in the Familyhood

michelle-williams-b_0.jpg

Michelle Williams is not feuding with Heath Ledger's family over the late actor's will.According to the New York Post, Williams plans to skip the upcoming Dark Knight premiere because Ledger's family will be there. A source says she is still "furious" with them because she "has seen nothing" from Ledger's will.

But her rep tells Us:

"The presumption that Michelle ever intended to attend The Dark Knight premiere is unfounded, but to say she is 'boycotting' due to a rift with Heath's family is absurd.

"It is time to allow this family to go about their lives without this continued scrutiny and speculation."

Anyone else excited to see Heath's last movie? His makeup is perfect in this pic. I can't wait.
