The Bachelor Finale, Matt Grant Proposes to 22 Year-Old Skank, Shayne Dahl Lamas May 13th, 2008
Grant, 27, a global financier from England, simply described the moment as “incredible. It [was] a beautiful setting, a beautiful day. Shayne [looked] absolutely exquisite.”
The 22-year-old, whose father, actor Lorenzo Lamas, previously told Grant his daughter might not be prepared for marriage, said she’s not too young but also isn’t rushing into anything just yet. “There’s still a lot of growing to do in our relationship. We will not tie the knot until I am mentally and physically prepared as well as Matt,” she said.
To keep their relationship under wraps, Grant and Lamas secretly met on various occasions at a house in Palm Springs, Calif., where they relaxed, playing board games and watching TV. “Shayne is absolutely terrible at Trivial Pursuit,” Grant joked. “I love her very much. I would die for this woman but she cannot play!
“The key is giving it the right time and not rushing into anything,” he said. “We’re just starting our relationship,” Lamas added. “We’re not putting any pressure on ourselves…[but] we’re 100 percent in this relationship right now.”
I don’t know what it is about this show, but I always have to watch it. I guess it’s just the fairytale of it all, the dates the contestants go on are unreal. No common folk could afford that shit, plus I love the fights and all the desperate, drunk chicks who get pissed off over anything.
The Bachelor paved the way for Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, and Tila Tequilla. Where would we be without this show?
Oh, and Shayne’s a ditz but they are both very in love and I wish Matt and Shayne the best. Some couple needs to break the losing streak of the couples from this series.
