John Edwards' trial has been postponed because he has a serious heart condition. Edwards sought to delay his trial for criminal corruption, which was schedule to begin later this month, due to his illness.
According to NBC, Edwards passed out recently. He had "three episodes" and the two-time presidential candidate's condition could be life-threatening if left untreated.
John appeared in court at his hearing today. Judge Catherine Eagles contacted Edwards' cardiologist and has granted a postponement so that he can undergo surgery next month.
Edwards is charged with six felony and misdemeanor counts for allegedly using campaign funds to cover up his extramarital affair with his gold digging baby mama, Rielle Hunter.
NBC reports that Edwards' condition is an arrhythmia that might require implantation of a pacemaker. The judge did describe his condition as serious. John's criminal trial is delayed until at least March 26.
