Kristin Cavallari may be a b*tch, but that's not enough to get people to tune into MTV's scripted reality show The Hills. The season six premiere pulled in the lowest numbers in the series' premiere history!

Lauren Conrad jumped ship after last season. Is LC's departure the reason why numbers are down, or has too much evidence about all of the show's fakery begun to take its toll? Are we now officially over Speidi and tuning out because Heidi Montag and Spencer are cast members? Or have we lost interest?

Tuesday's show was the series' lowest-rated premiere yet, with 2.1 million viewers tuning in, a sharp decline from the 3 million viewers from last season's premiere in April and the 3.5 million from August 2008's opening episode.

Although viewership is down, The Hills remains the top program on television in its time slot in the 12-34 demo that the network targets. Scary! The Hills still pulls in good advertising revenue for the most coveted demographic. Once The Hills begins to lose its highly targeted viewers, then I think we'll have a chance at this show getting canceled and paving the way for the inevitable Speidi 'Newlyweds' spin-off. Which is a good thing cause it will be the catalyst of their demise!

Lauren Conrad isn't going to be missing The Hills spotlight since her novel, L.A. Candy, is being turned into a movie. It tickles me that Spencer Pratt says she fugged up by leaving the show, yet she's the one making some big business decisions.

What's even sweeter than having your book made into a movie? Knowing that the executive producers of Twilight are behind her film also. Temple Hill Entertainments Marty Bowen says Lauren has a great outlook on how the movie should be done.

“Lauren came to us with a structure of how to tell the story in an interesting fashion, that was separate and apart from the book. er book is an honest portrayal of what it must be like to set out to be normal, then sign on to become famous and eventually realize, wow, this isn’t at all what I’d planned for myself.”

Mad props to Lauren on her bestselling book being turned into a movie!

I guess someone actually could pay me enough to put my life on camera for the world to see. My scripted life, that is. The Hills cast members actually make really good money!

MTV is obvioulsy making like ATM robbers to be paying the cast this much. The show is still successful, which makes ya wonder if there's any end in sight.

In the mag Lauren talks about having issues with self confidence and dealing with the 'boyfriend layer'.

Lauren on overcoming her self confidence problem:

"I felt bad about myself because certain people were relentlessly attacking me and my reputation. My mom kept saying, 'Let it go, Lauren. It doesn't matter.' My friend also sat me down and asked, 'Why do you care what people say about you? How does it really affect you at the end of the day?' I couldn't come up with a good answer and realized I had to stop worrying about what other people think. The next day I got a tattoo on my lower back that says 'sticks and stones,' because they may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

On gaining a little weight in the middle after she began dating Kyle Howard:

"I call it the 'boyfriend layer,'" she says, laughing. "We were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less." To get back on track, the couple started working out together. "We like doing outdoor stuff: tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A.," says Lauren. "I just ask Kyle, 'You feel like working out?' It's more fun than hitting the gym alone."

I wish I could use my boyfriend as my excuse for getting fat but we've been together for 50 years. Well, not really but once you're with someone longer than 10 years you should get an award. I wish they would use the old school super models like Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, etc. Oh man, can you imagine Naomi as a judge on ANTM? Move over Danielle Steele, there's a new sheriff in town. The Hills' Lauren Conrad's  first novel L.A. Candy, has topped the New York Times Best Seller List for two straight weeks. L.C. is ecstatic about her hit book and never thought this would happen for her.

"If someone said to me five years ago when this all started that I would one day make the New York Times Best Seller list I wouldn't have believed it. I am so honored that it is now a reality."

Lauren, none of us would have believed you would have a book on the NY Times Best Sellers list. In fact, I never thought you'd be able to
do anything more than doodle designs of dresses that you would like to poorly make.

Granny Conrad joined the ladies of The View yesterday so she could peddle her new book that she "wrote," L.A. Candy. She also talked about walking away from The Hills and attending Speidi's wedding.

Lauren Conrad is so over her faux reality show which really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. LC is a shy girl and she's never seemed cut out for fame. During the complete interview, Lauren says that her real friends never appeared on The Hills and she was just hanging out with "those people." L.C. also says that Spencer Pratt didn't apologize to her for making a sex tape rumor because she was never on the other end of the phone during his apology scene on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

It's amusing to see the looks, smirks and mild eye rolls from Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepard at different points of the interview. I don't blame them. The most entertaining thing about Granny Conrad is her raspy and whiny voice. That's how she kept me awake.

L.A. Candy hits book shelves on June 16. Best believe this will be a New York Times bestseller. I'm not gonna hate, L.C. is a very savvy business woman.

It's funny how A-listers don't attend these events. It's great PR for the C and D-list crowd, but the more famous-er and richer you are, the less you show your face with the rest of the D-list, even if it's for a worthy cause.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, hubby Pete Wentz and their big baby Bronx attended the fundraiser. Denise Richards was also in attendance. Denise is always at fundraisers, as is Lauren Conrad and Nick Lachey. Something tells attendees receive a gift bag that's filled with pure awesome.
