In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada airing Friday night, the British Columbia-born singer confirmed that she married sound engineer Demacio "Demo" Castellon over the summer.

"We got married July 19th," she said. "I love it. It's a nice phase of my life."

Furtado, 29, recently sported a new diamond ring in Miami, sparking rumors that she had tied the knot.

"I just feel kind of free and relaxed and more in tune with trying not to be so stressed out," she said. "[I'm] trying to enjoy things a little more. I'm happy ... I'm excited about the future."

The newlyweds worked together on her 2006 album, Loose and were engaged last year.

Congrats! Now don't go all Hollywood and get a divorce just cause you're like a successful singer and all. Keep it Canadian, eh?

I knew I just needed to give this rumor some time before the truth would emerge.

Nelly Furtado is not expecting after all. Star magazine cites a source as saying the "Promiscuous" singer, 29, "is not very far along yet, so she's trying to keep the pregnancy under wraps."

But her rep says Furtado is "not pregnant."

The singer is still engaged to sound engineer Demacio "Demo" Castellon. Furtado has a daughter, Nevis, 4, with DJ and producer Jasper "Lil' Jaz" Gahunia.

Maybe this rumor came about because Nelly is thicker than she was a year ago, but damn. I can only imagine what pregnancy rumors do to a female's self esteem. Shit, I'm like 4 months along whenever I have a good meal.

Celebrity Chef Guy Rubino is not afraid to call out the a-holes who step foot in his restaurants. I'm sure Nelly and Justin will act more like normal people rather than selfish divas next time they decide to catch a meal at Guy's joint.

"She made a reservation for 10 guests. She showed up an hour late, with five extra people in tow," he said. "For parties that size, we do a prix-fixe type of menu. Nelly objected and was really rude about it. She expected individual dishes to be prepared. Her manager even came into the kitchen and had the gall to say, 'Just fâ€"ing do it!' I told her that she and her client could 'just fâ€"ing LEAVE.'""Timberlake [center] comes into Rain, doesn't even look at the menu and shouts for random food that we don't make," Rubino groaned. "If he knew what he wanted, why come to an Asian restaurant in the first place?"

I'm into it! There's nothing wrong with changing up your 'do. Keeping the same dark hair because it's safe is B-O-R-I-N-G! Nelly has a whole new look and I'm sure she's just experimenting. I think she should go platinum tho because there's some orange streaks and her face matches her hair a lil too much, but I'm into it.

Grammy winner Nelly Furtado is engaged to sound engineer Demacio "Demo" Castellon, who worked on her hit 2006 album Loose.

Their close friend, music producer Timbaland, gave a one-word reply when asked if the engagement was true: "Yes."

The British Columbia-born Furtado, 28, told Blender in July 2006 she had a "secret boyfriend" of eight months, adding: "I just don't really talk about it. It's nobody famous or anything."

Furtado has a daughter, Nevis, 3, with DJ and producer Jasper "Lil' Jaz" Gahunia. She and Gahunia split in 2005 after four years together, but Furtado told Blender: "We're fully active co-parents and really close friends."

Asked why the two had never married, Furtado said, "I'm kind of modern. I don't really live by society's standards. Maybe in the next five years I'll get married, have more kids. One grandmother had eight kids, the other had 10. If I have that many kids, then I would need a hubby."

Furtado, who speaks Spanish and Portuguese and is currently recording her first Latin album, pulled off a clean sweep of Canada's Juno music awards in April. Nominated in five categories, she won every one â€" including album of the year.
