Nick and Vanessa began dating in 2006. I really thought these two were going to make it work.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have called it quits.

"They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another,"

The split comes after a rash of breakup rumors and reports, which were shot down.

A source says Minnillo, 28, and Lachey, 35, are "still friends. It was the right thing for both of them to do."

The only reason why I'd like to be a publicist is so I could issue the breakup statements and replace the words "still friends" with "no longer speaking, kind of hate each other. It's SO over!"

Aren't they so cute?!? Any photo's cute when it's set up. You know they aren't wrapping their own gifts. I was hoping for a picture of her bent over with her hand in a turkey ass, while Nick gives it to her from behind. One can dream, and I will. ;)

In an interview with Good Day New York, Nick Lachey talked about his new baseball team, the Tacoma Rainiers, but when the topic turned to he and girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo's sex photos, his camera went off air.

You can see Nick's frustration through his eyes though he's putting on his best poker face. The blinking says it all.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have responded to the furor over recent pics of their sexy hot-tub frolic. "Where's the scandal?" Lachey told OK! magazine.

"I was in Mexico with my girlfriend of a year, celebrating our anniversary on a private vacation. It's not like I was caught with a Mexican hooker. We've all gone out and had a few too many and done something stupid. We've all made mistakes."

The scandal is, I wanna see Nick poppin' Vanessa like his tube steak is in a hot tamale and now I'm totally screwed out of it. I'm sure he treated Vanessa like his Mexican hooker. Maybe there were photos of Vanessa strapping one on to Nick jacuzzi side? Oh the endless possibilities!

According to Nick Lachey's reps him and his ho Vanessa Minnillo were at a Club Felt party in Kentucky when some dude approached Nick and he was gonna throw down.

The couple were making their way through the party at Club Felt, led by Nick's bodyguard, when some drunk guy yanked Nick's arm causing Vanessa to fall down.

While Vanessa tried to calm her pissed off boytoy, nearby police took control of the situation and cuffed the guy. They asked Nick if he wanted to press charges, but Lachey and Minnillo were content to just put the night behind them.

Filing a police report would interfere with their banging schedule. Can't stand machismo Nick. If cameras were rolling he probably would have thrown some punches.

Vanessa Minnillo's MTV TRL gig tenure is supposed to end later this year. And she apparently wants to hurry up and become the next Kevin Federline by recording an album. You know this shit's gonna flop!
