Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi is joining American Idol as a judge when the singing competition returns for its eighth season in January 2009.
“We are turning the heat up on Idol this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table,” show creator Simon Fuller said in a statement released Monday. “She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America’s most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”
DioGaurdi is certainly qualified for the job, having written songs for artists as diverse as Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Santana, and Pink. Even Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers have released DioGuardi’s songs.
Producers always intended to have a fourth judge on the panel.
“We’ve seen from our international series that having a fourth judge creates a dynamic that benefits both the contestants and the viewers,” Frot-Coutaz said.
I’m guessing contestants now have to get the approval of three judges instead of just two. That’s gonna be hard! I’ll tune in to see what she’s all about. American Idol had to do something new. Next they should replace Ryan Seacrest, get someone funny, hot and naked up there.
Former Presidential candidate John Edwards consistently lied, denying he had a sexual relationship with Rielle Hunter, a video producer. But the truf came out, baby! John finally admitted to the affair on Friday.
Rielle would call John “love lips,” and they reportedly had a relationship for a year, traveling for four months at one point. Rielle reportedly told a Newsweek reporter that John’s wife Elizabeth Edwards didn’t “give off good energy” and that she “didn’t make eye contact with me” - Ya gotta love a heartless homewrecker bitch. Gawd.

The best part about this shocking, violent incident is that Nikki beat down America’s Next Top Model contestant, Bianca Golden, in a Caribbean airport. Nikki’s family was saving five seats that they placed their luggage on. Like assholes, yes, I’m the pot calling the kettle black, Bianca’s family felt entitled to those seats. Chaos ensued. The beatdown began.
Nikki’s father injured Golden’s mother so badly that she was airlifted to Miami to have her injuries treated.

Jessica Simpson has revealed that a song written for her forthcoming country album is based on her own experience as a victim of abuse.

Now this is a miracle baby! Here’s Finley Crampton and his mother Jodie Percival.
When Jodie discovered she was pregnant, she decided to have an abortion because her and her fiance, Billy Crampton, knew their baby could inherit a life-threatening kidney condition, the same condition that killed their first son. Their second son was also born with serious kidney damage.
‘Deciding to terminate at eight weeks was just utterly horrible but I couldn’t cope with the anguish of losing another baby,’ said Miss Percival, 25.
However, Finley had other ideas. And some time after the operation, Miss Percival felt a fluttering in her stomach.
Eventually her doctor sent her for a scan – and she discovered she was 19 weeks pregnant.
The child had survived the abortion and thrived in the womb. ‘I couldn’t believe it,’ said Miss Percival. ‘This was the baby I thought I’d terminated.
‘I wrote to the hospital, I couldn’t believe that they had let me down like this. They wrote back and apologised and said it was very rare.’
Miss Percival carries a gene which triggers multicystic dysplastic kidney – which causes cysts to grow on the kidneys of an unborn baby.
However, doctors told the couple from Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, that this child was likely to survive, so they decided he deserved a chance.And in November, Finley was born three weeks premature, at 6lb 3oz.
He had minor kidney damage but is expected to lead a normal life.
‘I knew if that operation hadn’t failed he wouldn’t have been there,’ said Miss Percival, a hairdresser. ‘I just couldn’t believe that this child had got through it all and looked so perfect.’
He may need an operation but as only one of his kidneys is affected he can survive. ‘I still struggle to believe just what he has fought through. Now he’s here I wouldn’t change it for the world.’
