Spider-Man, the fourth movie installment, is in the can. Which means they're probably screwing themselves out of good cash if they aren't going to roll with it like it was. Now they want to take the role of Peter Parker back to the teen years, which means Tobey Maguire is out!
Director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are both no longer part of the Spider-Man franchise after doing three of the installments together. This means Kirsten Dunst is out of the picture, too. Apparently, after the script for the fourth movie sucked, they decided to go in a new direction. Tobey hasn't said anything about the break up yet, but director Sam Raimi did talk about the big change.
"Working on the Spider-Man movies was the experience of a lifetime for me. While we were looking forward to doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise in a new direction, and I know they will do a terrific job."
I think this is Sam's nice way of saying "f*ck you Marvel, Spidey will never be the same without me or Tobey, and you'll be sucking my c*ck once you realize what a sh*tty decision you made." I want to hear some anger and drama from these fools for being dropped from the next film! Some people are just too nice anymore.
