We were down for a few hours because my site's host said that POTP's traffic crashed 40 sites so they pulled the plug without warning, so thoughtful. We are live thanks to phone calls and a wonderful wonderful person I'll call Bob who chitted and chatted me through the drama on the phone.

Disney's first black princess, Princess Tiana - and the ‘white' Prince Naveen. Move over Snow White. Make room for Disney's first black princess.

With America's first African-American president in the White House, Disney is counting on an African-American princess to be a big hit in Hollywood. But even though The Princess and the Frog isn't released until later this year, it is already stirring up controversy.

For while Princess Tiana and many in the cartoon cast are black �" the prince is not.

Which has led some critics to complain that Disney has ducked the opportunity for a fairytale ending for a black prince and princess. While some have hailed Disney's decision as a reflection of melting pot America, others say the company is sending out a mixed message.

Although the black princess's love interest in the new animated musical is called Prince Naveen of Maldonia and is voiced by a Brazilian actor, he looks more white than black in photographs from the film that Disney have released.

Well I effing love it!

Caroline Kennedy has withdrawn her name from consideration to take over Hillary Clinton's vacant Senate seat in New York, the daughter of the 35th President of the United States announced early Thursday.

On Wednesday, Kennedy, 51, telephoned the state's Gov. David A. Paterson, whose decision it is to choose Clinton's replacement, and apparently expressed her concern for her uncle, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, according to The New York Times.

In a brief statement released by her spokesperson, Caroline Kennedy said only, "I informed Governor Paterson today that for personal reasons I am withdrawing my name from consideration for the United States Senate."

The elder Kennedy, 76, suffered a seizure Tuesday during President Obama's inaugural lunch and is being treated for a malignant brain tumor first diagnosed in May. He was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

Paterson is expected to announce his decision regarding the Senate seat on Saturday, according to The Times. Clinton resigned from the Senate late Wednesday, immediately after she was sworn in as secretary of state.

Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Massachusetts, is scheduled to be released from the hospital Wednesday after suffering a seizure the day before.

Kennedy collapsed Tuesday during a luncheon for President Obama in the U.S. Capitol's Statuary Hall.

Dr. Edward Aulisi, chairman of the neurosurgery department at Washington Hospital Center, said Kennedy's doctors "believe the incident was brought on by simple fatigue."

"Sen. Kennedy is awake, talking with family and friends, and feeling well," the doctor said Tuesday. Paramedics were called to the Capitol at 2:35 p.m. ET. An ambulance took Kennedy to Washington Hospital Center.

"Sen. Kennedy had a seizure" which "lasted a while," a Republican House member told CNN. The member said Kennedy was still experiencing seizures when he was put in a wheelchair and taken out of the room where the luncheon was held.

Sen. John Kerry, the junior senator from Massachusetts, accompanied Kennedy to the hospital. He told reporters Tuesday that Kennedy was alert and in good spirits.

"He has his Irish up," Kerry said. "Ted Kennedy is going to be back in the Senate fighting for the things he cares about." Kerry quoted Kennedy's wife, Vicki, as saying, "It just goes with the territory. It is part of the battle he is fighting," Kerry said.

Obviously this weekend's posts were new and I'm not doing a morning and afternoon links more than likely like I said. To summarize, I'll figure out posting schedules and the like when my new writer begins in January. Now back to the gossip...

Charlie Sheen and ex Denise Richards's daughters are unharmed after being involved in a car accident Friday in Malibu.

"Charlie told me that the girls are fine," said publicist Stan Rosenfield. "He said it could have been much worse. They were in their car seats, and he is extremely grateful for the safety features from Mercedes."

The girls, Sam, 4, and Lola, 3, were being driven in a Mercedes SUV around 3:30 p.m. when a Honda Civic made a turn in front of them, sparking a four-car collision, Sgt. Evans of the L.A. Sheriff's Department confirms. The girls' nanny was driving. 

"The only person injured was the driver of the Honda," Sgt. Evans said. "There was no crime committed."
