J.K. Rowling Devastated Over Finishing Harry Potter

In a BBC interview, J.K. Rowling says the tears were flowing as she finished the final chapters of the seventh and last Harry Potter novel.

"I was in a hotel room on my own. I was sobbing my heart out.I downed half a bottle of champagne from the mini-bar in one and went home with mascara all over my face. That was really tough."

But Rowling, felt other emotions upon completing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, due out July 21.

"Finishing the book is a relief. I can feel more relaxed. I felt euphoria, devastated, when I finished one chapter near the end. I absolutely howled, it had been planned for so long."

The author also divulges her inspiration for the three main characters. Harry Potter, she says, is "totally imaginary," but Hermione Granger is a bit like her younger self ("I was quite swotty [nerdy] when I was a kid") and Ron Weasley is "a lot like my oldest friend Sean."

While Rowling has admitted that two characters die in the final book, she's mum on who they are. She does, however, address rumors that the final word in the book is "scar." "It was so for ages, and now it's not," she says. "Scar is quite near the end, but it's not the last word."

Happy 4th of July!!

Celebrate, baby! We'll be back tomorrow. See ya then! :)
July 4th history according to Wikipedia:

  • The Fourth of July is iconic to Americans, some claim the date itself is somewhat arbitrary. New Englanders had been fighting Britain since April 1775.
  • The first motion in the Continental Congress for independence was made on June 4, 1776. After hard debate, the Congress voted unanimously, but secretly, for independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain on July 2.
  • The Congress reworked the text of the Declaration until a little after eleven o'clock, July 4, when the twelve colonies voted for adoption and released a copy signed only by John Hancock, President of the Congress, to the printers.
  • Not until August 2 would a fair printing be signed by the members of the Congress, but even that was kept secret to protect the members from British reprisals.
  • John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail on July 3, 1776: The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival.
  • It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.
  • Adams was off by two days, however. Certainly, the vote on July 2 was the decisive act. But July 4, 1776 is the date on the Declaration itself. Jefferson's stirring prose, as edited by the Congress, was first adopted by the July 4th vote.

Venus Williams and her Boyfriend Hank Kuehne - Who's Prettier?

Venus and Hank at Wimbledon.
Venus and her bald dude Hank have been together for a while now. He's an unsuccessful golfer no one has heard of. Hank is K-Fed without hair... and, hmmm... this really wasn't a difficult question. Hank is prettier, hands down. But he doesn't have any funds, so he's really fugly.

I hope she doesn't spend on his ass. Venus desperately needs a makeover. I wonder how old he is and how much she pays him for sex? Oral must be pretty expensive. I could pay three months rent with what he charges.

Usher & Tameka Foster Expecting First Child

Well they've finally confirmed that Usher's hooch Tameka is pregnant.

Just a week after his fiancée hinted that children could be in their future, the pop star and Tameka Foster have announced that they're expecting their first child, due in the fall.

"We are extremely excited at this point in our lives planning our wedding and the joy that comes with expecting our first child together," the couple said in a statement released to the Associated Press Wednesday.

"We hope people will be happy for us and respect our privacy during this happy period in our lives."

Do you remember the story posted here on POTP back in April that Tameka was pregnant but it may not be Usher's baby? Yep, the rumor even back in April was that she was knocked up by her ex-husband Ryan Glover. Well, at least we know for sure she's prego but is it truly Usher's?

Tyrese Doesn't Want Brandy

Tyrese and Brandy are not engaged!

Rumors have swirled that the raptor proposed at his baby mama's (Norma) baby shower over the weekend. Tacky! But according to Brandy's spokesman, Courtney Barnes, when Tyrese got down on bended knee, he proposed to his baby mama, Norma, and not to the "Moesha" star.

I apologize for posting this ridiculous engagement rumor. Dunno why I went with it?!

Creator Of The Sopranos David Chase Speaks About The Finale

I've been a Sopranos fan since it all started 8 years ago and I'm one of the hos angry with the ending. :) We've all had plenty of time to stew about the final episode so now it's time to hear what the creator, David Chase, thinks of it.

Why did he end The Sopranos with such an odd ending?

"I have no interest in explaining, defending, reinterpreting, or adding to what is there. We did what we thought we had to do. No one was trying to blow people's minds, or thinking, 'Wow, this'll (tick) them off.' People get the impression that you're trying to (mess) with them and it's not true. You're trying to entertain them."

Any chance of a Sopranos movie?

"I don't think about (a movie) much. I never say never. An idea could pop into my head where I would go, 'Wow, that would make a great movie,' but I doubt it. "I'm not being coy. If something appeared that really made a good 'Sopranos' movie and you could invest in it and everybody else wanted to do it, I would do it. But I think we've kind of said it and done it."

What does he think of the fan's reactions?

"I hear some people were very angry, and others were not, which is what I expected."

I'm still a sad bitch cause I think he left too many open ends. As I had said in my comment on Joy's previous post, they could have had last week's episode as the season finale and I would have been happier than I was this past Sunday night and think a lot of other people would have been too. How do you guys/gals feel about it? Were you happy the way it ended or are you like me and expected more for an 8 year running program finale? Do you think Tony died when everything went blank? Did life go on and he had a normal family dinner with the rest of the Sopranos gang? Was it all a dream to begin with? What'cha think?

Enrique Iglesias Is An Insomniac

Enrique Iglesias has been suffering some serious Insomnia and is now taking meds to help him sleep. I can see how he could become an Insomniac when he has that hot biznatch Anna Kournikova running around naked in his house. How appropriate he titled his upcoming album Insomniac too.

"I have been having real trouble sleeping and it went on right through the recording of the album so it seemed like the appropriate title.

"I've been on Ambien (a prescription for insomniacs) to try to sort out the problem. "I started off on 5mg, then when that didn't work I went to 10, 15, 20 and now I'm on 30mg a day and it's still not working 100 per cent."

"I went to see the doctor the other day and he stuck a camera down my throat to see what was going on in my stomach and he gave me a shot that knocked me out for 30 minutes.

"It was honestly the best sleep I've had in years. I tried to get him to give me some to take away with me, but it's for surgery only."

Celine Dion & Daughter... I Mean Son Rene Charles

I think I may have to this up as a poster for 'Why Your Son Gets His Ass Beat In Kindergarten'. He'd be a cute lil boy if he didn't have the long goldy locks going on.
