America Georgine Ferrera is a well-spoken television and film actress who scored the lead role of Betty in ABC's Ugly Betty. Before her television sitcom, America Ferrera appeared in films Real Women Have Curves and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

America's mother was the single parent of six children: five girls and one boy.

America began acting in school plays and community theater when she was eight years old and has managed to pick up a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award less than two decades later.
