Bio
Amy Winehouse is an English singer and songwriter known for her powerful, old school soulful voice and her beehive hairdo.
Amy Wino's 2003 debut album Frank was commercially and critically successful in her native Britain and was nominated for the Mercury Prize.
In 2006 the major talent dropped Back to Black, an impressive collection that earned her six Grammy Award nominations and five wins.
Amy has also won the Ivor Novello Award three times, one in 2004 for Best Contemporary Song (musically and lyrically) for "Stronger Than Me," one in 2007 for Best Contemporary Song for "Rehab," and one in 2008 for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for "Love Is a Losing Game," among other prestigious distinctions.
Winehouse has received media attention apart from her singing. Some people have heard more about Amy's alleged drug and alcohol addiction than they have her music.
Since 2007 Amy Wino's been all over both British and American tabloids. Her husband Blake Fielder-Civil is also a mess and has served prison time. They're both involved in a pending divorce. Amy's lifestyle is also affecting her career. She's not healthy and she's a threat to herself.
Amy Winehouse's story is tragic, she's so talented but she's determined to waste it in pursuit of whatever it is that she wants.
