Britney Spears is an American singer, entertainer, mogul and icon. Spears is ranked as the eighth best-selling female recording artist in the United States.

She is also one of the world's best-selling music artists having sold an astounding estimated 85 million records worldwide. The pop princess also holds the title to multiple Guinness World Records. The woman redefines "successful."

Raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, Spears can often be heard injecting a "y'all" here and there on a frequent basis. Her remarkable career began with a 1992 episode of Star Search.

Britney Spears is credited with influencing the revival of teen pop in the late 1990s. In 1997 she was a member of the all-female pop group Innosense and toured with 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys.

Britney is a pop culture icon, blurring the line of sexy meets cute meets innocent. The video for her first single "Baby One More Time" features Spears in a midriff wearing a rolled up blouse, and her provocative photo spreads have kept men's pulses racing.

In 2001 she released her second studio album 2001's Britney followed by 2003's In The Zone.

In July 2004, Brit Brit announced her engagement to former backup dancer Keven Federline after only three months of dating. On September 18, 2004 Britney and Kevin got married.

Nearly one year later she gave birth to her first child, Sean Preston, on September 14, 2005 via C-section. Less than one year later Britney announced her pregnancy in May 2006 during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

She filed for divorce from Federline on November 7,2006. That didn't work out so well which could have something to do with Britney's late night shaving of the head at night on an LA street in 2007 and attacking a paparazzi vehicle with an umbrella. Best pictures ever!

On January 3, 2008, Spears refused to give her children to Kevin Federline's representatives. Police were called to her home, helicopters were swarming and the stand-off was broadcasted on national television.

Britney has earned over $370 million from her advertisement and endorsement deals. She has also published four books and released seven DVDs.
