Britney Spears is an American singer, entertainer, mogul and icon. Spears is ranked as the eighth best-selling female recording artist in the United States. She is also one of the world's best-selling music artists having sold an astounding estimated 85 million records worldwide. The pop princess also holds the title to multiple Guinness World Records. The woman redefines "successful."
Raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, Spears can often be heard injecting a "y'all" here and there on a frequent basis. Her remarkable career began with a 1992 episode of Star Search. A young Spears sang her heart out and then went on to star in Disney Channel's talent launching series, The New Mickey Mouse Club from 1993 to 1994. Three years later in 1997 Brit Brit signed on with Jive records. She released Baby One More Time in 1999.

Less than one year later Britney announced her pregnancy in May 2006 during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
She filed for divorce from Federline on November 7,2006, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for both physical and legal custody of their two children, with visitation rights forFederline . That didn't work out so well which could have something to do with Britney's late night shaving of the head at night on an LA street in 2007 and attacking a paparazzi vehicle with an umbrella. That same year Britney released her Blackout album which is amazingly brilliant, however, people were too distracted with her personal life and refrained from purchasing her album.
On January 3, 2008, Spears refused to give her children to Kevin Federline's representatives. Police were called to her home, helicopters were swarming and the stand-off was broadcasted on national television. It was sensationalized. The message being sent to the masses was: 'Pop star goes down in flames, let's watch!' Luckily Britney is back on track now.
In 2007 and 2009 Britney Spears' name has been the Most Searched according to the Guinness World Records book edition. Spears released her sixth studio album Circus on her 27th birthday in December 2008.

Britney has four fragrances: Curious, Fantasy, Believe and Curious Heart. She is currently the new face of Candie's and she's performing in sold out venue after venue on a circus-themed world tour.
Her father Jamie Spears is her conservator and has helped her gain partial custody of her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
