David Letterman

Bio

David Letterman was born April 12, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dave started his career has a news anchor and weatherman for the Indianapolis tv station WTHR which was formerly known as WLWI. He also hosted a Saturday morning talk show called 'Clover Power' where he interviewed 4-H members about their projects. That sounds like some interesting interviews. Yeah right!

David moved to California in 1975 and began writing for the TV sitcom Good Times. He started his late night career in 1982 with Late Night with David Letterman, appearing after The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson on NBC. It was believed he would take over Johnny's spot when he retired but the hosting gig was handed over to Jay Leno. In 1993 David switched over to the CBS network and his show was re-named to Late Show with David Letterman, which is still on the air today.
