Dev Patel is a lanky British film and television actor. Surprisingly, Dev is also a martial artist! He is best known for playing the central character, Jamal Malik, in the massively successful film that is Slumdog Millionaire.
On the small screen Dev plays Anwar Kharral in the teen drama series, Skins. Dev has picked up a Critics' Choice Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his Slumdog Millionaire performance.
The scrawny Patel has even won a bronze medal in Taekwondo at the 2004 AIMAA World Championships in Dublin.
Dev is a bit of an overnight success! His career began in late 2006 when he auditioned for Skins. His mother saw a casting ad in a newspaper and took him to the audition. I'm sure we'll see plenty of Dev in the future.
