Jay Leno Bio
Jay Leno started out his career as a comedian and got his foot in the door with NBC after doing stand up on 'The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson'. At the time David Letterman was hosting the 'Late Night' show immediately after Johnny and it was believed he would get the hosting seat of 'Tonight' when Johnny left. Things got butt ugly when it came down to Carson's retirement when NBC gave the job to Jay Leno instead of Letterman who went to CBS and started his own gig.
After hosting the show since 1992, Jay's contract ran out and the Tonight Show hosting spot was handed to Conan O'Brien. Jay debuted a new show titled 'The Jay Leno' show which airs during prime time at 10:00 through the week but the ratings suck and he wants to go back to his old time slot.
