Bio
Jessica Simpson is a singer, actress and television personality. She began singing at her local Baptist church and auditioned for Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club at age 12. She didn't get the role, but her future competitors Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera did.
Jessica has had seven Billboard Top 40 hits, three gold and two multi-platinum RIAA-certified albums. On October, 26, 2002, at age 22, Jessica married Nick Lachey. In multiple interviews, the singer said that she remained a virgin until marriage.
It wasn't until 2003 when she starred in MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica that she became a household name.
Moving onto the big screen has not been a smooth ride for Ms. Simpson. Her first film Dukes of Hazzard was a major success but her subsequent flicks such as Employee of the Month were not.
In 2008, she turned in her pop songs for country music and released her first country album titled Do You Know.
Jessica is the daughter of Joe Simpson, aka Papa Joe, who is also her manager. He is perceived as an overbearing father who enjoys talking about Jessica Simpson's boobs. Joe once said Jessica "has double D's, you can't cover those suckers up!"
In 2005, Newlyweds won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Reality Show. In the summer Jessica made her debut in The Dukes of Hazzard which opened at #1 at the weekend box office. In November of '05 Jessica filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences."
Since then she has dated John Player and is rumored to have had flings with Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Dane Cook and Owen Wilson. Jess is currently dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Jessica Simpson has allegedly been dropped from her record label. Stay tuned.
