John Mayer is a talented singer-songwriter with a massive talent for prose and sleeping with any woman that he wants to. He is also known for giving scary O-faces during his live performances. Once on the electric guitar, the man kills it!
While attending the Berklee College of Music, Mayer befriended a few Maroon 5 band members. Inspired and motivated, the guitar player moved to Atlanta and released his debut solo album, Inside Wants Out, one year later, in 1999.
Mayer began to frequent the Atlanta club circuit and an appearance in March 2000 at the South by Southwest Music Festival led to a recording contract with Aware Records, a subsidiary of Columbia. He began recording his major-label debut, Room for Squares. That was fast!
John became a massive success and earned a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for his song, "Your Body is a Wonderland," which has been rumored to be about Jennifer Love Hewitt.
John can not deny that he is a soulman and has toured with blues group the John Mayer trio. A lover of live, music, the crooner released Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles in 2008. His third disc, Continuum, released in 2006, is blues heavy as well.
In 2007 Mayer won the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy for Continum and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the catchy "Waiting on the World to Change."
John continues to pursue stand-up comedy on the side in edition to writing a thought-provoking piece for Esquire magazine. He is also involved in stopping global warming and has established a "Back to You" fund. Well done.
